About this course

This class will introduce the 802.3cg short reach 10Mbps Ethernet physical layer standard and the PLCA collision management protocol which allows for efficient multi-drop network implementations. In addition to introducing the unique features of the new 10Base-T1S physical layer, this class will teach you how to interface a 10Base-T1s PHY with existing Ethernet MAC interfaces and ethernet protocols. You will also learn about the termination networks and connectors required to interface multi drop 10Base-T1S PHYS with single twisted pair network cabling. Upon completing this class you will understand the important features of the 10Base-T1S standard and how it compares to other wired Ethernet interfaces as well as the key design considerations for replacing legacy field bus solutions.
